![]() The software sports a sleeker interface to match with Windows 10 devices and has the same editing tools as Snipping Tool++. Snip & Sketch is built-in all Windows 10 devices released after October 2018. (If you don’t have Windows.old, please find a Windows 10 computer and go to C:WindowsSystem32.) Copy the SnippingTool.exe file by pressing Ctrl + C. Navigate to C:Windows.oldWindowsSystem32. To open the Snipping Tool, select Start, enter snipping tool, then select it from the results. For those with Windows 10, opt for Snip & Sketch, a modern take of the former tool. Open File Explorer by pressing Windows + E. To use the Snipping Tool with only a mouse: A notification also appears once you're finished taking a screenshot, select it for more editing options. The screenshot is automatically copied to your clipboard. You can change the shape of your snip by choosing one of the following options in the toolbar: Rectangular mode, Window mode, Full-screen mode, and Free-form mode. ![]() The desktop will darken while you select an area for your screenshot. You can also launch the Snipping Tool from Command Prompt. Press the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut, then type snippingtool in the Run box and press Enter.
